Know the Facts: Pfizer’s Covid Vaccine

BNT162b, the code name for Pfizer’s vaccine, holds potentially promising results. Pfizer has made it a point that no preservative had been used in the process. That means no thimerosal (which contains mercury) and no microchips.

But the question lies, what is in this covid-19 vaccine? The very same one that everyone has been waiting for.

Active Ingredients

The active ingredient in the vaccine is the nucleoside-modified messenger RNA (modRNA) glycoprotein (S) of SARS-CoV-2.

Like the flu vaccine, Pfizer’s vaccine contains genetic code from the virus in the form of mRNA. mRNA is used to transport genetic “directions” in the cell to assemble proteins. This makes the vaccine particularly delicate, as a result, it is stored -100 ˚F. The vaccine is shot into your body through the arm muscle.

As it contains an RNA sequence which is directly from the vaccine itself, cells in one’s body create a viral spike protein of Covid. The pathogens then use them to become attached to a person’s cells to get entry into cells.

This spike is risk-free; albeit it causes a reaction within a body. This reaction leaves a person to be immunized and repel the virus if they ever come in contact with it.

Lipids

(4-hydroxybutyl)azanediyl)bis(hexane-6,1-diyl)bis (ALC-3015), (2- hexyldecanoate),2-[(polyethylene glycol)-2000]-N,N-ditetradecylacetamide (ALC-0159), 1,2-distearoyl-snglycero-3-phosphocholine (DPSC) and cholesterol are the lipid nanoparticles used.

These nanoparticles are used to encase mRNA. Essentially, nanoparticles are tiny spheres protecting mRNA and help it make its way into the cell. The partials are about 100 nanometers across, which is coincidentally the same size as coronavirus.

The lipids are used in a “defined ratio”. The most important lipid in the vaccine is ALC-0315. Since mRNA has a negative charge and this particular lipid can be given a positive charge as it is ionizable; they attract each other. But this is also the element that can cause any possible side-effect or allergic reactions.

Salts

The vaccine contains four salts- potassium chloride, monobasic potassium phosphate, sodium chloride (table salt), and basic sodium phosphate dihydrate.

The salts, put together, are known as phosphate-based saline (PBS), which keeps the acidity (pH) of the vaccine close to one’s body. Keeping the acidity close to the person’s body is key. Substances with either a high or low acidity can injure cells terribly.

Other Ingredients

Sucrose or regular sugar is also used. It is a cryoprotectant to keep the nanoparticles “safe” when they are frozen.

So, what I’m trying to say is; yes the vaccine is safe and no it will not cause autism.

Stay safe and wear masks! And take the shot, when it’s your turn. 🙂
